Performs routine poultry-farm work including feeding and watering birds, collecting eggs, supporting incubation and maintaining hygienic poultry housing.
Typical tasks and duties
Poultry Farm Worker may perform the following tasks:
- providing poultry with feed and water and monitoring flock condition
- collecting eggs and handling them for grading, storage or incubation
- placing eggs in incubators and assisting with routine hatchery operations
- cleaning and disinfecting sheds, hatcheries and equipment to reduce disease risk
- observing birds for signs of illness or welfare issues and reporting concerns
- performing routine cleaning and minor maintenance of poultry-farm facilities
