Supports the manufacture, process control and quality assurance of asphalt products, including monitoring mix requirements, production conditions and testing results.
Typical tasks and duties
Asphalt Technician may perform the following tasks:
- interpreting asphalt production requirements, mix specifications and work instructions
- preparing or coordinating batching and mixing of asphalt materials
- monitoring plant and process conditions during asphalt production
- taking or coordinating samples and checking production or test results against quality requirements
- identifying and reporting process, material or equipment faults and supporting corrective action
- maintaining production records and following safety, environmental and housekeeping requirements
