Occupation details and duties
Carries out inspection, maintenance or other scoped work at height using controlled rope-access and fall-protection systems, with particular emphasis on safe access, equipment integrity and risk controls.
Typical tasks and duties
Rope Access Technician may perform the following tasks:
- reviewing work-at-height requirements, hazards and safe-work procedures before accessing the work area
- selecting, inspecting and correctly fitting ropes, harnesses, anchors and fall-protection equipment
- establishing or using approved access, restraint and fall-arrest systems within authorised responsibilities
- accessing and traversing elevated work areas while remaining protected by the required safety system
- moving and securing tools, equipment and materials to minimise falling-object risks
- carrying out the assigned inspection, maintenance or technical work while maintaining communication and safety controls
- checking, cleaning and storing rope-access and fall-protection equipment after work
