Tests and maintains water quality and filtration systems in public or private swimming pools so that water and equipment meet relevant safety and operating standards.
Typical tasks and duties
Swimming Pool Technician may perform the following tasks:
- testing pool water and filtration systems against recognised quality and safety requirements
- analysing test results to determine chemical, mineral or other treatment requirements
- applying required pool-water treatments and monitoring the resulting water quality
- installing, repairing and maintaining swimming-pool filtration equipment to manufacturer requirements
- advising pool owners or managers about water-quality, treatment and filtration issues
