Supervises front-of-house wait staff in a food-and-beverage venue, ensuring professional customer service and supporting reservations, service, cash handling, stock and shift operations.
Typical tasks and duties
Waiter (Supervisor) may perform the following tasks:
- supervising and training food-and-beverage attendants and assisting with staff rostering
- managing front-of-house dining or catering service during the relevant shift
- taking reservations, greeting and seating guests and presenting menus and beverage lists
- supporting end-of-shift transaction reconciliation, cash handling and stocktakes
- setting tables, taking orders and coordinating orders with kitchen and bar staff
- serving food and beverages and clearing or resetting service areas
- collecting payments and operating point-of-sale systems and cash registers
