Trades Recognition Australia Skills Migration Assessment

Trades Recognition Australia ( TRA ) is the designated assessing authority for many trade occupations and provides skills assessment services for migration purposes to tradespeople who wish to apply for either a permanent or temporary Australian visa.

Tradespeople Migration to Australia

The TRA skills assessment will assess if your educational qualifications and work experience are at a professional level and closely related to your nominated occupation for migration purposes.

A successful Migration Skills Assessment outcome does not result in the awarding of an Australian qualification and cannot be used for employment, licensing or qualification recognition purposes. If applicants wish to be assessed for an Australian qualification, they may choose to apply for a skills assessment through the Offshore Skills Assessment Program.

TRA offers several programs for the purpose of skills assessment of the nominated occupation. The applicants should choose the correct pathway based on their specified country passport and the type of Australian visa that they are applying for.

Currently, TRA is offering the following skill assessments programs :

  • Offshore Skills Assessment Program: The assessment is for the applicants from a specified country of passport and occupations mainly for permanent skill migration program.

  • Job Ready Program: The assessment is for international student graduates who hold an Australian qualification.

  • Temporary Graduate visa: This program is for recently graduated international students with a trade-related qualification who they need to include a positive skills assessment to apply for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485).

  • TSS Skills assessment: This assessment is for applicants applying for a Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa.

The applicants are not required to provide English language test for the Migration Skills Assessment.
